They're my friends  •  Manager, Financial Advisory Services, 9Gauge Partners, LLC. Previously Accounting Manager, York RSG. Portland State grad.
Brian, aside from being one of the smartest people I know, is also one of the most hard-working and motivated. He currently works full time ... , while also working to launch his own business on the side until he can quit to concentrate on his new business full time. Another great trait I see in Brian is his ability to know what his own strengths are, and what areas he needs to reach out to other resources or experts. I have seen a fair share of companies, typically start-ups, where the founder cannot step back and admit that they don't know everything and end up floundering. Lastly, while Brian obviously has very strong technical ability, he is able to successfully translate and explain things to people with a non-technical background. Because of this dual ability, at his current job he has been brought in for sales pitches, discovery meetings and conference presentations. He has been presenting in front of various size audiences his entire career and is very comfortable explaining his ideas to others.

We worked together  •  Principal Technologist, GT Advanced Technologies. Previously Research Engineer, HP Labs, Hewlett-Packard.
Brian is a brilliant engineer. That makes him special. He also has an incredible ability to draw truly interesting people from all walks o ... f life together, to rally them behind a common goal, and make it really fun while still maintaining an incredible focus on winning. That makes him truly outstanding. I've been fortunate enough to learn from him as a coworker and have his keen attention and thoughtful advice as I've jumped into the start-up game.
Jaime Barraza
They're my friends  •  Partner, Chief Technology Officer, TCG Group Holdings, LLP. The University of Texas at Austin grad.
He is one of the most disciplined, hardest working people I know. He sets lofty goals and teaches them, such as a PhD from Berkley, working ... for Intel, and taking a trip around the world. I have no doubt he can succeed at anything to which he applies himself.
Jason Porto
They're my school  •  Associate III, Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc.. Previously World Traveler, Personal Travel. University of Colorado Boulder grad.
Brian will be a great entrepreneur because he incessantly thinks of new ideas and analytically sifts through them to determine which can be ... viable businesses. He will put an amazing amount of energy into the ideas that he feels strongly about, but is also realistic and realizes that there are always challenges to work through. However, he won't let these challenges dampen his enthusiasm and will put everything he has into overcoming them to create a successful business.
