You Should Know About Me

Key Accomplishments

I founded Interactive Development Environments (IDE) back in the day. IDE was one of the first 100 dot-coms, one of the first to include open source software in a commercial software product, and a technology innovator.

I came directly from academic computer science, so I had a huge learning curve on the business side to raise VC funding and to build sales and marketing teams. That experience helps me relate to the issues faced by technical founders, and to help them build their companies. In addition to executive coaching related to leadership, communication, and management skills, I can help companies with product definition and positioning, competitive analysis, partnership decisions, and inbound marketing.

How I like to work with people
As an Advisor

Once upon a time, I was a micro-manager. No more. I like to be kept in the loop on key issues facing the company, and to be in contact with the CEO and other executives as needed. I think that I can provide value by serving as a trusted advisor to the CEO, and helping improve his/her ability to lead the company. Depending on the company's location, regular contact should include occasional F2F meetings, along with other interactions by email, conference call, or phone call.
