Key Accomplishments

I'm a lawyer by training but passionate about making the world better through politics and design. Though I've always been interested in technology, I got my start by developing and launching an online, short-form legal journal in 2009, and I've since worked on cleantech, fintech, and legal technology products with early-stage teams. If you're interested in working with a fast learner and egoless colleague who understands commitment, don't hesitate to reach out.

How I like to work with people As a Cofounder

I am a high-energy individual with very fast learning skills and a sixth sense for people. I separate my ego from my conduct and thus adapt quickly in order to realize outcomes. What's important to me is being effective.

In general, I want is to have some input into product design while focusing day-to-day on making sure all ships are (a) moving, (b) moving at the appropriate speed, and (c) moving in the same direction, (d) moving in the right direction. While designers are designing and engineers are engineering, someone has to ask and make sure there are answers to questions like: Who is talking to customers and what are they saying? Where is legal counsel on securing our IP? What does our corporate identity look like? Who is managing our media presence? When are our next few meetings with investors scheduled? What is the competition doing? What market opportunities are we overlooking? Gut check—do we need to pivot somehow or even just turn the prism slightly? How quickly are we burning through our runway funding and do we need to make adjustments? What kind of untapped free resources might we leverage? How is recruiting happening?

I want to be the person following these threads to completion and managing the team as a whole because that is where my education and experience have taught me to add the most value. Thus, In a startup environment, I see myself in a CEO role, wearing all the hats necessary to allow the engineering/design team to focus on building product. I could also see myself in a product role, which, like a CEO role, would take advantage of my social IQ and yet provide enough of an intellectual challenge to maintain my ongoing interest. I would also, due to my education, be able to supervise outside legal counsel.
