Key Accomplishments

At iSkoot I joined as the 3rd employee in San Francisco after a 'restart' for the company in 2008. I ran (and still run) the product team, and was responsible for initial concept, design, testing, and launch of the company's main social media aggregation product, which was sold as a white label product to Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile. I also helped grow the SF team from 3 to 25 until the company was sold to Qualcomm in Oct 2010.

Prior to iSkoot I worked at Motorola, working on their first Android based software builds that ultimately launched in the market as 'Moto Blur'. I helped shape the initial vision for the product before leaving to join iSkoot.

Prior to Motorola I worked at Good Technology (acquired by Motorola) as a product manager focused on the enterprise email product on the Microsoft Windows platform.

I also worked as an associate in Merrill Lynch's Technology Group in Palo Alto focused on providing technology firms with financial services including equity and debt issuance, IPO execution and M&A analysis.

Prior to my roles in product and finance I was an electrical engineer for 3 years with Nokia Mobile Phones, focusing on the design and test of their cellular transmitter and receiver chips.

How I like to work with people As a Cofounder

- Extensive product strategy, design and execution experience
- Extensive mobile technology and industry experience
- Financial modeling acumen (aka 'very savvy with a spreadsheet')
- 'Lean Startup' mentality - I attended (and won!) the SF Lean Startup Machine workshop last summer, and read extensively about this topic
- The ability to work well with a wide range of personality and skill types
- Strong team leadership skills (I consistently received excellent reviews from my team members)
- Hard worker - whatever it takes
- Sense of humor and a healthy dose of whimsy
- Strong communication skills - understanding, articulating, and presenting the 'big picture'
- A love of great product design, and helping people solve problems

We worked together at iSkoot
John is one of the smartest guys I know. He absorbs and processes huge amounts of information and knowledge effortlessly. His product and ... biz judgement is rock solid. He's also an incredible communicator and people-person who's able to attract, motivate and lead a great team. I'm proud to vouch for John because having work for him for several years, I want others to experience and benefit from his leadership and personal qualities. So excited that John is starting this venture, expecting great things.
