Key Accomplishments

At Instantis, I went through the complete lifecycle of a startup from beginning to successful exit (acquisition by ORCL). Started with ideation and founding, raised multiple rounds of VC financing, survived and pivoted during the 2000 dot-com bust and the 2008 financial crisis, built a market leading product, built a blue chip customer base, became a market and industry thought leader, led the company to growth and profitability and successful exit.

Prior to Instantis, I founded one of the earliest web developing and hosting companies (1993). This experience is what led to the founding of Instantis, originally as a platform for automatically building and instantly deploying web applications using only a browser and front end HTML.

How I like to work with people
As an Advisor

I like to first deeply understand the advisee company's technical product capability, unique value proposition to the customer and the market and competition. This is essential in order for me to be able to provide specific, contextual advise instead of generalities.

I seek to understand the core strengths, background, personality etc of the entrepreneur I am advising, so I can add value in the right areas.

I also seek to hear from the entrepreneur where he/she needs the most help and what I can do to help, and this can change over time.

I aim to provide direct and clearly articulated feedback. However, whether to act on this is purely the prerogative of the entrepreneur.
