Key Accomplishments

Some things not on linkedIn: As CTO of Engine, was coding (NodeJS mainly) as part of my job. Working on an EduTech startup idea for a while prior to joining Engine, and have recommenced working on it in 2014. I have several other ideas & side projects, including B2B social commerce, online political tech, nuclear reactor fuels. Successful and accredited investor. A CTO/founder/funder triple threat.

Nonwork: father of 4, husband of 1. Live in Austin, TX and will stay here. :)

How I like to work with people As a Cofounder

I am flexible with respect to roles, as I have both technical skills and business savvy, and am willing to 'do what it takes'. I think TEAM FIRST: The right idea and the right team with 100% focus can make things really fly. A good team will be flexible (a la Lean Startup) and improve ideas to win, so success is more about building a good team than focussing on a particular idea.

Interested in being a co-founder not an employee, ie, looking for max equity and max impact on the world and down the road.

As an Advisor

I can contribute based on my experience in SW/ web application development, business development, machine learning, data science, etc. I can contribute via informal contacts and/or assist as angel investor if this is an idea that gets me excited. If I'm really excited, join the team as co-founder. :)

Paul Muehr
We worked together
Patrick is a risk taker with the entrepreneur mindset. He could have continued working for one of Austin's semiconductor corporations pulli ... ng down a six figure salary, but he wasn't happy doing that before because it wasn't satisfying his entrepreneurial desires. He's working at a startup making a fraction of that because it's where his passion is. I went through an entrepreneurship program with Patrick in early 2012 and believe he brings the right combination of risk taking, attitude, sacrifice, and experience that will one day bring him the ultimate title: successful entrepreneur.

since the 90's, served in Tech as a software developer, project and team leader, R&D team manager, technical contributor, CTO, & CEO.

We worked together
Paul already is an entrepreneur at Logic Refinery, his EDA verification startup. This (EDA/electronic design automation) is tough arena to m ... ake headway because you need deep technology to sell to sophisticated (and few) customers. I met and hit it off with Paul because of our common EDA background and also our common motivation to look beyond that into other technology startup opportunities. I collaborated with Paul and we went through Venture Forth program together at TechRanch. We'd be cofounders except that we had different startup interests (hey, thats what FD is for). What makes Paul great is he's got good ideas, a level of practicality that ties technical to business results, experience with teams not just as individual contributor, and a drive to succeed.
