How I like to work with people As a Cofounder

The idea and personality fit have to be right for me to become involved. I'm not interested in get-rich-quick schemes; I only want to devote my time and energy to building sustainable companies.

As an Advisor

I'm flexible on communication frequency and methods. I can travel if needed. There's no substitute for a good whiteboard session.

Initially, I like to explore the product or idea with the founder(s). Why this market and customers? Why this idea or product? What about competitors? Why now? It may seem like I'm scrutinizing, but addressing these issues and others will ensure that time and energy aren't wasted on needless activities. Not to mention that potential investors will ask the same questions, so solid answers are required. After that, we can look at strategy, product, engineering, and other areas in which I can help, including fundraising.

Karim Meghji

in addition to the 3 items above, he's a practical problem solver who is always in learning mode.
Richard Zinn
We worked together  •  Chief Technology Officer, NZN Labs.
Chris pushes through tight spots driven by sheer tenacity and will to win. Along the way we became good friends and confidants, a tough thi ... ng to do when under so much pressure to constantly hit milestones and company goals, and when we didn't always share the same opinion to start with. Great guy.
Joe Wallin
We worked together  •  Partner, Davis Wright Tremaine LLP. Previously Partner, DLA Piper US LLP. NYU grad. University of Washington grad.
He knows how to do it. Has done it before!
Christina Allen
We worked together  •  Director, Product Management, LinkedIn. Previously Executive Director, Product, Linden Lab. Northwestern grad. Carnegie Mellon grad.
As an advisor, Chris is thoughtful, a great listener, and someone who is natively curious and passionate about solving problems. He's a gre ... at sounding board and creative collaborator. I trust him completely - he's steady, thoughtful, experienced and has deep integrity.
Michael Schutzler
We worked together  •  CEO for WTIA. Entrepreneur. Angel investor. Harley commuter. Zen student. Husband. Dad.
He's super bright. He easily attracts top talent. He's shrewd. He's tenacious.

Richard Zinn
We worked together  •  Chief Technology Officer, NZN Labs.
In addition to many years in Big Data with Omniture, Richard's been a startup CTO from inception to 100+ employees with $30M+ raised. He's ... also run a successful consultancy and is founder of another startup in the wearables space. Regardless of the area in which help is needed (engineering, management, working with a Board, etc.), Richard has the knowledge that can benefit other entrepreneurs. We became friends while working through some difficult times at a former startup, and I continue to turn to him for advice with my new projects.

Michael Schutzler
We worked together  •  CEO for WTIA. Entrepreneur. Angel investor. Harley commuter. Zen student. Husband. Dad.
Michael rocks, and I say that from personal experience. He's got an extensive background in leadership development, and even wrote a book o ... n how to inspire teams. He works with executives at all levels, from large companies to one-person startups. Perhaps most importantly, he couldn't be where he is today (CEO of WTIA) without the skills and experience that make for an excellent advisor, regardless of your needs.
