You Should Know About Me

Key Accomplishments

After 15 years of product development experience in consumer electronics, medical devices and toys, my focus is on commercializing new technology and bringing products to market. I work as the liaison between marketers, designers, engineers and manufacturers to move the development process forward.

How I like to work with people As a Cofounder

I enjoy helping to create a concept and see it through from design to prototype through mass production. I am as confident working out product requirements with a design and marketing team, as I am debugging plastic tooling and hardware assembly with manufacturers. The best satisfaction I get from work is watching someone experience a product I've helped design and being asked how it was done.

As an Advisor

I like to engage with projects at the front end to help connect a concept to both a set of technologies and a business and marketing plan. Successful hardware programs are the result of thoughtful design, engineering and manufacturing. As most hardware projects connect to the digital ecosystem they also need well designed and developed software experiences to fully engage the public. Coordinating these efforts is complex but can be hugely rewarding.

We worked together
Sean's knowledge spans an incredible variety of topics, and he is a voracious reader. His experience developing a wide variety of products f ... rom "napkin sketch" to "shipped" allows him a large set of experiences to draw from when tackling complex problems. I've worked with him in the US and on multiple trips in China and he's always on point. He wakes up earlier than you, and he's a good guy.
Aren Kaser
We worked together
Sean's understanding of both the engineering and ethereal front end of product development along with his ability to predict and analyze the ... startup/hardware movement makes him an invaluable team member, collaborator, and leader.

Great mind, detail thinking
Eric Shank
We worked together
Sean is a great mixture of genuine interest in products / businesses that are a stretch and a real passion to make them happen. When I was S ... VP of Design and Development at Wild Planet Toys, I was always eager to work with Sean because I knew he would leave no stone unturned from start to finish of any project. His drive to make things happen is enhanced by a very level headed world view - no running off cliffs with Sean. I couldn't recommend someone more highly.
Rick Kaufmann
We worked together at Kulicke & Soffa
Sean has worked for me at two companies which should indicate that I think highly of his abilities. He is a very intelligent innovator with ... whom you can finish a grueling mountain bike ride, have a couple of beers, and roll right into developing simple to elaborate ideas. As far as mechcanical engineers go, he is a rare and good mix of analytic, creative, and artistic traits.
Josh LaTendresse

With a degree of enthusiasm that borders on the absurd, Sean tackles problems and obstacles with an ebullience that is infectious. Equal par ... ts soberly analytical and entrepreneurial, Sean is an ideal leadership candidate for any startup which seeks to solve challenging new problems for emerging and existing markets.

Walter
We worked together at Astro Gaming, Inc.
Sean has shown that he can drive product creation from the ground up with little to no resources. He pours his passion for Engineering into ... his work.
John

Alex
We worked together
Sean not only understands the technical, but also the translation to human interface. As a result, the products he's involved with are refin ... ed and focused on useability.
John
They're my friends
Sean knows two things in product - What makes a good product and what goes INTO making a good product. He knows and understands the product ... development cycle with an amazing level of precision. I've seen him pick apart hardware designs in a matter of seconds, explaining the actions taken and, in some cases, missed or overlooked. He has become my go-to engineering advisor on all of our hardware clients at Stage Two.
Jessica Welton
We worked together at Smart Design
