You Should Know About Me

Key Accomplishments

For my academic research projects I created models and wrote my own code to implement these models. The end result were four peer reviewed, scholarly papers.

Vouch for them.

Michael Hayden
We worked together at University of Maryland Baltimore County  •  Professor and Chair of Physics, University of Maryland Baltimore County. University of California, Davis grad.
Felipe thinks outside the box and brings excellent analytical and mathematical skills to every problem.

They're my professor
I know Felipe very well, and in very different contexts. While being my students, he showed much enthusiasm and skills for his academic proj ... ects (physics). But he also had interests in music. Having seen him this other facet of him, I and the way he wants to put them together, I think he will succeed. Felipe is very hard working, has initiative, is very passionate about the things he does, and is also very gifted. I recommend him without any hesitation.
Paul Cunningham
We worked together  •  Research Physicist, Naval Research Laboratory. Previously NRC Postdoctoral Research Associate, Naval Research Laboratory.
I worked with Felipe from about 2008 - 2010 at UMBC, where I trained him to perform terahertz spectroscopy as part of his applied physics re ... search. He has excellent analytical skills, good initiative, and is a fast learner. He performed several of the measurements and contributed to the analysis that lead to the publication: “Broadband terahertz characterization of the refractive index and absorption of some important polymeric and organic electro-optic materials”, J. Appl. Phys. 109, 043505-043510 (2011). He has a strong aptitude for computer modeling of complex physical and mathematical problems, which are evidenced by his PhD thesis work and his publications. Throughout his work he demonstrated a keen sense of how to optimally overcome barriers to arrive at a solution and a critical eye when examining uncertain results. He would be an asset where ever he applies himself. ps: the online form did not list any expertise for me to select under 'step 3'.

They're my friends  •  Research Engineer, CISRA. Previously Research Associate, University of Maryland Baltimore County.
I taught a course that was attended by Felipe. He proved himself to be an excellent student and was enthusiastic about the subject beyond ju ... st the course material. As a student, he was someone that you remember. In learning about his research I found him to be immensely capable in mathematical analysis and had a passion to solve his research problems that was impressive. I have no doubt that he will be able to solve any technical challenge that he sets his mind to and have no hesitation in vouching for him.
