Key Accomplishments

I recently joined Swapbox, manufacturer of a self-serve electronic kiosk for more convenient delivery of packages. More broadly, I have a background in consumer Internet and hardware technology, real estate and management consulting. Prior to joining Swapbox I was CEO, SNS Analytics. I was responsible for all fundraising, business development/sales, marketing, and other administrative functions. My partner and I grew our distribution news service to nearly 1 million unique monthly visitors and over 2 million monthly page views. I signed ad deals with AOL, Bleacher Report, Tribune Co. ,, and many others. (I stepped away from this business since we were unable to generate a significant, stable (enough) stream of revenue.)

Previously, I consulted to startups providing marketing and product management services. Clients included Redbeacon (acquired by Home Depot); Getable (funded by Andresseen Horowitz) and others. Earlier in my career I worked for eBay and Gymboree (online) in product marketing/management capacities.

I have a BA, Business Economics (with High Honors) from UC Santa Barbara and an MBA from Stanford.

How I like to work with people As a Cofounder

I bring passion, creativity, problem solving, sales and analytical skills to a founding team. Further, I bring the experience from my existing startup as well as a solid understanding of the startup landscape. (In my current role I have used lean startup and "growth hacking" concepts to grow the company to a sizable base.) Finally, I am able to invest some seed capital into an idea to assist in getting it off the ground.

Ward is committed to startups and entrepreneurship. I see him at most events I attend and I know I'm at half the number he is. He's whip sma ... rt with an MBA from Stanford which is evident the moment you dig into a business problem. He's consulted for many startups and has had exposure to tons of intricate problems. His network is also extremely strong when it comes to the Valley. He's also just a great guy who is balanced and easy to work with, which is important for a leader.

Ward has proven to be a talented entrepreneur. As CEO he has led, or participated in, every aspect of growing and running the company. He ha ... s shown tremendous versatility and a great ability to reposition the business as market dynamics have dictated. He is a creative thinker as well as a talented business development executive. He is particularly scrappy and productive (a necessity at a startup). He has great analytical skills as well as a strong intuitive sense for the needs of the end users. Perhaps most importantly, he is easy to work with. In a startup, the dynamics can be extremely stressful, and Ward has been able to retain his composure and not allow circumstance to rattle him. Overall, he is a great executive talent.

Strategic thinker on the one hand, and on the other hand willing to roll up his sleeves and deal with all the messy details. Perfect comb ... o for an entrepreneur. And while he's very smart, he routinely reaches out to his network to access the best available thinking.

A couple of key reasons. Quite simply he does not give up. He thinks deeply about problem sets, and while he has clear opinions he can liste ... n and adjust based on nuptial and advice he sees. He's also able to operate and communicate at both the vision and the uber tactical layer.
