Key Accomplishments

After stints at two natural-language search companies in the first DotCom boom, I began writing for Wired. I covered start-ups, tech policy, privacy and security. I co-founded the award-winning Threat Level blog, and was its editor when I left in November 2012.

During my time at Wired, I built out Contextly with a remote team, solving the many problems that online news sites have, with an eye to figuring out solutions that are good for readers, writers and publishers.

How I like to work with people As a Cofounder

I bring vision and a deep knowledge of the publishing domain. That includes both micro and macro challenges, from how annoying it is to add a link to a story to publishers' deep fears about bounce rates.

I also have a launched product bringing in revenue.

While I'm not a coder, I'm competent enough to add to the conversation about the stack and know how to communicate with programmers.

As an Advisor

I like the occasional coffee. I care about product and strategy. In person is far better than email.
