How I like to work with people As a Cofounder

1) A lot of business experience- both intuition and a deep understanding of how enterprises work and make decisions (since I have worked with dozens of them).

2) A 6th sense when it comes to turning data into analysis into action- this was my sweet spot and one that I consistently see startups underutilizing (despite the trendiness of "big data").

3) Product/design experience and user empathy that I can draw on to help create awesome products that people will use, and an ability to design tests across many different types of media to validate or debunk these hypotheses, often before we even need to build anything.

4) A tendency to come up with elegant but unconventional solutions to difficult problems.

Dan brings a wealth of experience outside the ordinary (biology, anyone) and raw intelligence to the table. He's also got an internal drive ... to succeed that plays nicely with any startup he gets involved with.

They're my school
I've known Dan for many years and consider him to be one of the brightest people I've ever met. He is extremely creative, analytical, knowle ... dgable and driven. Additionally, his background in tech consulting definitely doesn't hurt.

They're my school
Dan is probably the smartest person I know. He is probably the smartest person you will know for a while too. MIT was a joke for him. His Wi ... fi password is a derivative of a distant piece of Pi, and he calculates it live. Every time. Besides being an exemplary geek, and an insanely powerful analytical machine, Dan is also a cool dude to be friends with. We've been best friends for 10 years, and I've observed him bring numerous F50 companies back to profitability, new markets, or higher heights as a part of his career as an elite consultant (Altman Vilandrie). He understands the customer. He understands economics behind the customer. He can put it into numbers. And then he can build a model, making it super simple to understand. Besides being a great business quant, Dan is driven beyond measure to get stuff done, and get it done right. I would work for him.

We worked together at Altman Vilandrie & Company
Dan is one of the smartest and most capable people I had the pleasure of working with Altman Vilandrie. No matter the project, he always fou ... nd a new way to approach the problems presented to him. More than once, his innovations for one project turned into a major content areas for the firm. Given the opportunity to run something on his own I have no doubt his success.
