How I like to work with people As a Cofounder

My working style is very collaborative. I believe each person needs to have their core responsibilities and their autonomy to make key decisions in those areas. However, I feel closely that me and my cofounders should talk through important issues and always feel safe to have tough conversations regarding any challenges they are facing. I like it when we can cut through the bullshit and talk about what's wrong and work as team to collectively find a solution. I believe in supporting my cofounders when times are good and bad and giving them all the resources (connections, time and money) to make sure they are constantly growing and challenged. I believe in accountability and that the best way to achieve success is to have my partners set aggressive goals and for me to support them and provide the accountability for them to hit it.

Even more important than being collaborative, I 100% believe in HAVING FUN! If you're not enjoying what you are doing, then what is the purpose of doing it in the first place. Work should be a place where people are excited to go and they feel challenged to get better everyday. If you don't create that environment then all of your efforts and ambitions were never fully realized

As an Advisor

I want to help as a CEO coach to help entrepreneurs navigate when the times get hard. Playing off personal experience and the accumulation of knowledge side by side with many entrepreneurs for years, the lessons I have learned are invaluable to a founder. Additionally, I love the fundraising process. Many people are intimidated by it, but there is something very exciting about getting to share what you are building with others who can make a material impact on the direction of your company.

Vouch for them.

James Yost
Executive Vice President, Investors Financial Group. Previously Financial Representative, Northwestern Mutual.
Jeremy is an all around great guy. He brings some Chicago flair to the west coast and I think it's a great touch. He's great at going from a ... 10,000 ft view to the little details. Just when you think you have it figured out he's looking at another angle you wouldn't have seen otherwise. He's the kind of guy you want on your team because while he's up front with his perspective he does it with a finesse that many people lack and it fosters a receptive atmosphere.

Jeremy Glassenberg
They're my friends  •  Head of Platform Apps at Tradeshift. Previously Head of Platform Product at Edmodo, and leading platform at Box. U. Illinois grad.
He's a smart as they come. He has a solid understanding of product and technology and he's seen a company grow from startup to pre-IPO. He ... has an incredible skill set

Sara Bokan
They're my friends  •  Vice President, Geodetic Survey, Ltd.
Tenacity - She comes from a hard working background. She's first generation, so she's had to overcome adversity and work harder than the pe ... ople around her. She doesn't make excuses and she gets shit done. Hungry - Sara will rally people around her causes. When she wants something, she gets it because it is stuck on her mind. I wish fearless was one of the adjectives as well, because she doesn't back down to anything Risk Taker - I've seen Sara approach situations most people would cower to. She is willing to take chances with her life to get to the place she wants to be

James Yost
Executive Vice President, Investors Financial Group. Previously Financial Representative, Northwestern Mutual.
James has a really positive mentality and an openness to learn that is really important to being successful. He has large ambitions and has ... taken the necessary steps to set him up for success. He's got things to prove which are always important in getting something off the ground
