Team Building and Work Culture
•Recruiting: Built a number of teams in a number of cities having a variety of capabilities using a variety of recruiters. Grew one team from 18 to over 200 employees. Grew two teams in two different cities from 0 to 25 employees. Grew another team from 15 to 45 employees.
•Opening Offices: Decided on real estate, facilities, and IT systems. Hired and trained site managers in four cities. Established regional managers in two other cities.
•Work Environment: Inherited an office with high attrition. Put in place a series of new employee engagement activities including all-hands meetings, employee recognition programs, and social events. Average employee engagement increased 18%.
•Compensation Systems: Promotion and raise system in one office was not clear and did not emphasize leveraging senior talent or growth. Established a new system which contributed to 30%/yr growth over an eight year period, and this organization becoming one of the most profitable organizations serving this client.

Financial Management and Metrics
Have managed P&L for eight different business-units with operations in 16 cities.
•Management Accounting: For a group of offices, in collaboration with finance team, successfully replaced monthly corporate financial reports with dynamic reporting based on weekly operations.
•Business Metrics: A new office had an inexperienced management team that needed to focus on critical success factors. Created simple metrics so that office quickly became the most profitable in its business unit.
•Financial Accounting: Selected accounting firm to support a startup business. Decided on financial accounts to use. Set up accounting practices.
Sales Management
•Sales Force: Developed and negotiated sales force incentive compensation package. Created and implemented sales plans. Grew revenues in one organization from $60m/yr to over $100m/yr.
•Proposals and Customer Relations: Decided on proposal teams. Oversaw proposal presentations to potential customers. Winning proposals created $60m/yr in recurring revenue across all organizations.
•Contract Negotiation: Successfully acted as lead negotiator on multi-million dollar blanket agreements with Fortune-500 companies, five in Aerospace and one in Industrial-Machinery, some focused on General Engineering others on Embedded Systems.

Strategic Planning and Business Process Optimization
Trained by GE in Six Sigma business process optimization.
•Strategic Planning: Assigned an office with stalled growth and limited profitability which could not be closed because it supported a strategically important customer. Hired and trained a new site manager. Developed new strategic plans. Office has now grown over three-fold, and is continuing a rapid growth trajectory.
•Quality Processes: Poor communications were leading cause of low quality scores across all organizations supporting a major customer. Implemented a series of communications training classes. Customer-provided quality scores for my team became among the highest of all organizations supporting this customer.
•Process Optimization: Assigned a team with poor multinational communications. Customer threatened to cancel contract. Added expertise to the team. Installed additional quality processes. Created new metrics. Focused team on optimizing new metrics. Customer satisfied with team’s progress continued to fund work.

Product Development
Full product life-cycle experience in multiple industries with multiple companies: R&D, feasibility analysis, demonstrators, requirements definition, detailed product design, safety-critical product design, all stages of testing, manufacturing engineering, field service, maintenance and repair, legacy product upgrades.

•GE’s Process: test system for power generators, jet engine software, avionics
•Parker-Hannifin’s Process: hydraulic system control software
•Northern Power’s Process: wind turbine electrical systems
