Key Accomplishments

At Taxi Magic, I co-conceived and created a mobile booking and payment tool for on-demand ground travel when mobile technology was still in its infancy.

Among many other duties at Taxi Magic, I:
- built the business case for the company (market-sizing, product launch and customer acquisition strategy, technology deployment plan)
- helped steer in through two rounds of financing
- co-managed product design and development across platforms (iPhone, Android, Blackberry, SMS, web)
- created top 20 iPhone travel app/ top 1% of all iPhone apps in downloads
- launched user acquisition SMS tool that sends taxi dispatch messages to every taxi booking customer at dozens of fleets while simultaneously educating customers about mobile/web booking options
- led partnership negotiations and integration with dispatch technology providers controlling ~75% worldwide market (Taxi Magic was first external technology to integrate via custom-built APIs)
- signed long-term strategic partnerships and agreements with taxi vendors in 40 cities across the U.S.
- launched secondary business line involving advanced credit card processing and accounts management solution, to serve as the core of long-term growth strategy
- managed customer support and vendor operations

At Google, I am part of a special projects team for the CEO, founders, and SVPs that develops and implements company-wide growth strategy project.

Prior to Taxi Magic, I was at BCG where I mostly worked in e-commerce and offline retail.

Outside of technology, I have a strong passion for both US domestic politics and development of democracy in transitional societies. I spent two years helping steer opposition parties from my native country of Georgia through the maze of Washington, and then helped run a political campaign for one of the leading opposition parties. Michigan State Press has published a book about my experiences of working in Georgia.

How I like to work with people As a Cofounder

I am a passionate software particularly passionate about fun and useful technology that improves the end user experience and saves people money. I am an experienced founder (Taxi Magic) with broad experience in general business strategy and execution (BCG, Google).

We worked together
Joel is constantly full of ideas. He has a great skill of being able to take ideas to the next level and understand how to push them toward ... a test of product market fit. He is resourceful and focused on lean implementation to get to testing quickly.

Robert Haining
They're my friends
Rob was the creator of the Condé Nast Interactive Product Group, which created Condé Nast first iOS products, basally bringing this very ... traditional media company into the app ecosystem after the development of the iPhone. As such, he was at the forefront of the creation of the present day app economy, and deserves great credit at the success that Condé Nast has had in its mobile strategy. He deserves to be complemented a great deal for accomplishing this at a large company, which is quite hard and requires strong entrepreneurial skills. Rob is also a great software engineer, with specialty in iOS products, something that any startup group should love to have.
