Key Accomplishments

I have a mixed technical and business background focused heavily in the database and analytics are on the technical side. Later I moved more into account management and product management as I helped developed the analytics offering for Motive during my time there. In addition to working as a developer early in my career, I have worked heavily with developers throughout my time prior to law school. I went to law school to escape the constant travel yet stay in Austin. This has given me some great insights into business development having now been on both sides of the table, but I find myself continually drawn back in to the working side of the startup space.

How I like to work with people As a Cofounder

I think I bring someone with a well rounded set of skills and a HUGE enthusiasm for working in startups. While I wouldn't be an ideal core developer at the moment, I do understand technology and developers and am not a "business guy" who doesn't understand how engineers or how software development works. I think my varied background allows me to take on those multitudes of roles/hats required by those working in the early stages of a startup. However, I am also NOT a big ego - I am looking to be a PART of a something fun and enjoyable, I'm not set on having to be a CEO or whatever. I just want to build something fun and useful and help create a great place to work.

As an Advisor

I am very informal, at least until formality is required. I typically work with entrepreneurs to help them understand if and when they need formal legal advice, and then can help them with basic questions. I'm not looking to BECOME a startup's lawyer, but simply to help provide some simple answers to legal questions that is sometimes all to hard (or expensive) to acquire. Coming from both the business and legal side, I think I have a nice blend of perspectives that can be hard to find from "traditional" attorneys. If a company needs true legal advice, then I can help direct them to proper resources and hopefully help them to ask the right questions to minimize their legal expense.

Jason Morio

Jason has a great combination of true technical chops plus product experience. Has served with a lot of different corps and advised many as ... well. Also not afraid to tell you your idea is crap if you haven't thought it through.

Jason Morio
We worked together  •  Solutions Marketing Manager, Planview and Founder, Morio Technology Management.
Jason has a great (and generally very rare) combination of technical chops and business savvy that allow him to be bring fantastic perspecti ... ves to a problem or project. He is also seasoned and hungry to do something of his own design. I think Jason would be a great cofounder for anyone (and I wish I had one of my own that was a good fit for the both of us)!

Eric Freedman
They're my friends  •  Product Strategist, User Experience and User Interface Designer.
Eric is a friend who also assisted me with early entrepreneurial endeavors. He has a sharp and vast knowledge of UI/UX and all that surroun ... ds it, as well as a good understanding of the needs of early startup teams. Incredibly easygoing and easy to work with. Technically savvy to boot, which is always helpful. I consider him an incredibly resource on anything related to the user experience and ALL that that includes (conversion, time to value, etc.)
