How I like to work with people
As an Advisor

My philosophy is to be a good listener and to give you permission; and, occasionally, ask more questions to ensure you're not going off the rails. i think about your history with me: Where you have come from, where you are going, how you narrate your work and goals. Sometimes you need someone to tell your story back to you.

My core expertise is helping you not screw up your initial tech build-out: Staff, methodology, tools, etc. I also have a PhD in English and can help you with the felicitous expression of your ideas in sentences, paragraphs, slides, white papers.

Communication needs to happen via a number of different modalities: Quarterly check-in (pretty formal - driven by a document); monthly check-in (video), occasional pings.

And it should all be fun.

John made people employable through his Ruby programming class at Harvard Extension School. John will make complicated problems manageable by offering forward thinking practical solutions. You should get John on your team whenever possible.

Brandon has an arsenal of great business ideas around online music and broadcasting, has implemented a lot of them, and is seeking. He's a S ... eeker. The real deal. He has a great nose for leveraging technology that is "too hard" for other developers (like backends for online broadcasting). I remember when he had to re-org a company and become sole leader: He did it efficiently. High praise.
