Brad Rubin
We worked together at Epic  •  Previously Business Intelligence Developer, Team Leader, Epic. Previously Software Engineer, Qualcomm Innovation Center Inc. Duke grad.
Brad and I worked together as software developers at Epic, an electronic medical records (EMR) software company. Epic is well known in the E ... MR world for its rigorous hiring standards, taking on only the best and brightest young minds to deploy and develop its award winning software. I believe that Brad's impressive CV of past accomplishments and educational background can attest to the high standard Epic holds of the developers they bring on board.  Brad has a knack for keeping a group moving forward towards the ultimate big picture goal, while simultaneously managing the smaller details and loose ends that tend to derail such projects along the way. While working together at Epic, I had the opportunity to observe Brad, often leading a group of three to six colleagues, deliver on projects that went beyond his base duties as a software developer. These include such deliverables as new physician reports for tracking the status of our clients’ medical clinics, improved hiring materials for bringing on new talent, and intricate product demos for major industry conferences. The pairing of his easy-to-get-along-with manner, his technical knowhow, and the fact that he was often explicitly or implicitly chosen to lead development projects made it an easy decision to quickly promote Brad to a Team Lead role at Epic. These skills would serve anyone well, and I know that Brad is driven enough to leverage them into a rewarding and successful turn as an entrepreneur.
