I worked with Clint on our own startup, and observed him in his other capacities for 20 years. Clint has a wealth of experience leading star ... tups through various stages of growth. He has also built a successful portfolio of companies as an angel investor, and led the Stanford Angels and Entrepreneurs. He's taught courses on decision making, entrepreneurship, ethics, venture capital, and governance at the Stanford School of Engineering, where he previously earned a PhD. So Clint has a lot of experience and a great network. A few things distinguish Clint over and above his track record. First, he literally wrote the book on ethics - "Ethics for the Real World" - published by Harvard Business Press. Clint is a man of his word, a straight talker who also follows through on his commitments. He understands that relationships and doing the right thing come first. Second, he was mentored in financial and strategic management of startups by Bill Lazier, a Silicon Valley legend. Clint understands, as very few people do, how to set up financial systems and controls in a startup that can take it all the way through an IPO. Third, Clint has invented his own financial engineering models to plan his seed and venture capital investments. These models simulate hundreds of scenarios that startups may experience on their journey. It's an amazing roadmap that he uses to predict outcomes and also to engineer success. Overall, you could not ask for a better advisor on strategic issues as well as nuts and bolts details when launching a startup.

Jeff and I co-founded Outcome Software together where we sold web based decision support software to large corporation. We raised over $10m ... in venture capital and grew the company to over 30 people before 2001 hit. I'd work with him again in a heartbeat. He has great attitude, brains, communication skills and gets things done. He's someone I'd want on my side through good times and bad.
