Product interface tips

Does anyone know of a cool easy to use tool for creating website "tips"? You know the kind that when you log in it gives you pointers, like "click here to find....". Or is this something that has to be custom built on a case by case basis?

This topic was covered a couple months ago... poke around and you'll find it. Lots of good references. Here's a link to some intro/tour libraries:http://www.webresourcesdepot.com/11-awesome-jquery-site-tour-plugins-for-guiding-users-with-style/.

I believe we've been pitched by Walkme or something of that name. Don't know how easy it is but from their demo it seems they are fairly easy to use.- Sent from Mailbox for iPhone

There are a couple of useful off-the-shelf "tips" plug-ins. And some are free. I'm currently using Intro.js. Very clean and simple. We also checked out Bootstro.js.

If you are looking for a "get to know"/"help"/"tour" type of a plugin, then check out hopscotch by LinkedIn (https://github.com/linkedin/hopscotch). It was developed internally by LinkedIn employees, and is used on their web application (most recently as part of the new contacts section).

Enjoy!
