Best service for designing simple website for mobile app?

I'm launching a mobile app in a couple of months and need to create a simple website for marketing purposes. I'm a non-techie and don't have a tech person on my team at the moment. I'm sure I can do this myself with one of the services I've seen advertised, and I'm wondering if any other non-tech people have advice how they've done it. My url is hosted via GoDaddy, in case that is useful information. Thanks.

Depends on what you need it to do. If you really want a 1 pg simple statement of what you're doing that can be changed rapidly, just use about.me. Takes about 5mins to get a page up. Businesses have started using it addition to individuals. Our is at: about.me/artemisnecklace.

Most website platforms now have a great mobile responsive themes. Some of the best out there are Tumblr, Squarespace, Twitter bootstrap, and even WordPress. http://www.tumblr.com/theme/36932

I would do it on Wordpress and purchase a theme from Themeforest. That way you'll get something professional looking for about $5 per month and $50 for a theme that you can edit and get support from the author. If you're not sure on the setup of Wordpress and the installation of the theme, head to Freelancer.com and post a project offering $75 to get Wordpress installed on GoDaddy and a theme you have purchased installed on the Wordpress installation. Specify that you want the theme to look like the demo you saw on Wordpress as the contractor will need to do a couple of things to make that happen. Good luck!

Squarespace is a good option. Lots of nice highly customizable templates to start from and a visual online editor and they have responsive designs. Wix and Weebly are other options. Ken Carpenter

LaunchRock or landerapp or kickoff labs. You can also use unbounce or so if you want to test various pages. First are super simple and easy. Strikingly is another option but not as good for this purpose in my opinion.

That's a good point from Jan - if you don't want a full site, maybe a landing page is the way to go. Launch Effect is one of my favourites for this - Its a Wordpress plugin, really easy to use and get set up and integrates with Mailchimp and a variety of social networks.

I second the votes for SquareSpace - I have been using it and it is very easy. If you want customized design work done, whether for a logo, business card, or website, then I strongly recommend 99Designs.com. For a few hundred dollars, you can have dozens of designers from around the world creating designs for you.
