Know Any Good Furniture Manufacturing Companies?

A fellow entrepreneur I know is trying to find a manufacturing company that will take his furniture spec and mass produce the furniture he's designed. He's run into a lot of obstacles and has wasted a lot of time talking to the wrong people.

Does anyone know any companies that build furniture? I'm sure he would appreciate the feedback!

Be careful with Alibaba, I have had great and terrible experiences. In one case, I saved tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of about many items (coffee tables, sofas, design classic chairs, etc), on another occasion I lost 5000$ to someone who never shipped anything (despite the fact that I visited their factory in China and saw half my order ready to ship out!) and the last time, the quality was so-so (acceptable for the price paid, but not top quality).

Also, I found that the "ratings" (Gold supplier) on Alibaba didn't mean much, and your recourse in case of being scammed is absolutely ZERO. I submitted many complaints about the dealer who stole my money, including skype chat transcripts and other proofs, but Alibaba couldn't care less).

YMMV.

What kind of furniture? Office, home, upholstery, etc.? Once I know that I can direct you a little bit better. My family has been in the business for decades, so I should be able to dig up several options.

Ron Loe owns Wood Castle in Corvallis, Oregon. He is a good business man and your friend would have to be persistent in contacting him. David,

My company does custom wood-working - we have a CNC router and full wood-shop and we can do prototyping, development and manufacturing. Not sure what your friend's budget allows, but we prefer to work with high quality materials and we pay our workers a good wage, so if you think he'd be interested in working with us, send me a message.

Thanks,
Devon
