Smart GOALS for start ups?

Hey everyone,

I have read Lean Startup and love blogs that encourage learning while lean. However, what I didn't get that I really wish I had were building some of the goals out that will help organizations grow no matter their product or pivots. SitterCycle is increasingly reliant on content and classes in our business model. Some things need to be growing always such as our email list, social media following etc. I want to use SMART goals. Has anyone written explicit SMART goals for their startup? I am having trouble imagining what would sound like for a business that has an eye towards scaling rapidly, unlike a small business? How many is enough? Too many?

Helen, I've tackled this at my current start up. I think the key to Smart goals for startups is to have short term as well as long term goals that you can really measure at their respective intervals.

Rachel, I was thinking all of ours are measureable weekly. List signups, social media, class sign ups, etc. How often are your intervals? Thanks! Helen
