Boilerplate Beta-user Agreement for SaaS

Hi all,

We are starting to sign-up beta users and I think I need a beta-user agreement... in fact I want one. Anyone have a boilerplate agreement they are willing to share?

Many thanks!
Luis

Luis:

I am not a lawyer and cannot give you legal advice. Having said that, I would highly advise you to seek out a legal professional for this. They likely have boilerplate agreements and will not charge much for it. It is best to seek an Intellectual Property and rights expert.

A small mistake now can be very costly later.

Not sure what you're wanting your beta users to agree to, but don't expect 99% to read or follow a "agree to terms" button on signup. If your goal is to reduce liability ok, but if you're thinking it'll help guide their actions (don't tell people about product, post screenshots, etc.) then you'll need a more one-on-one approach. You didn't give us much detail about what you're really going for, so I have to guess....

In a pure web or app SaaS, not sure why a Beta would be different then "non-beta" in ToS or EULA.

Thanks for the link Bret. Snapterms look like an easy solution to my need.

You bring up a good point.... what's the difference between beta and non-beta. I was ruminating on that and decided there really does not have to be a difference between the agreements. That makes life easier.

Thanks again. I know what I want to do now.

Much appreciated.
