Idea vs. Execution?

What is more important to have a great idea or to have a masterful execution regardless of the idea?

This is like asking which comes first the chicken or the egg. There is a minimum level of having a great idea and a minimum level of execution.

You can execute the marketing and manufacture of buggy wipes. Good luck.
You can make a greatest idea in the world, build a prototype, and demand that you control the idea such that no one provides the money to go into production.

Majority of entrepreneurs and investors in the Bay Area say - "ideas are free". Ideas cost nothing, execution is what makes it valuable.

It's a chicken and egg discussion: both are equally important! A weak idea will only be compensated to a certain extent by excellent execution... And a brilliant idea is worth little without execution: after all, execution is the only thing a consumer gets to see. Envoye de mon iPhone

It is not either - or.

Both

Think about sports,football.

A good play with poor executions

A dumb okay executed perfectly.

The good news is that "good ideas" are easier to come by than the ability to execute.

This is misinterpreted to seem like execution is more important.

Difficulty does not make it more important.

Great execution almost always drives success but in the end, it doesn't matter whether it's a great idea or great execution that gets you where you want to go.

Many successful businesses started as a partnership between an extrovert marketing person and an introvert operations manager, inside person. Read my Larry and Barry books. Arthur

Both. One without the other is doomed to fail... but great ideas with bad execution will fail faster than bad ideas with good execution.
