What are the best ways to resolve the chicken and the egg problem on multi-sided platforms?

I have been reading lately some good books talking about these issues that marketplaces face at the beginning. I am wondering if you all have some initiatives or suggestions for resolving this challenges with consumer facing type of ventures.

I can advice you based on your platform goal, we need to see who these customers are, reason for them to come together, etc Basically you need to apply technique like a) Bring one side Value b) Double side sword c) Salt & pepper one side d) Give to take, etc....If you already have platform and are looking for advice then reach me out for more info....

Think as a night club. Have you ever seen a sign says "Boys free tonight?"

Probably not. Find a way to set up a ladies night and let boys know.

Why would ladies show up ? Just because it is free ? Throw a drink or maybe a clothing line or a celebrity.
