Non-technical founder guide to outsourcing?

I've seen a lot of questions about how to tackle development if someone lacks technical knowledge and can't or don't want to find a technical cofounder. I got some free time and put my experience on the "paper". I worked in the outsource ("startup" style outsource, not "software factory" outsource) for more than 20 years and now I don't do that anymore, though I manage a large offshore team. Maybe someone can find this useful.
It's a relatively large read, about 5000 words.

Well done! This article is right on the mark. It even applies to large hardware development projects in all the major points: communication, trust, and project management. I am biased. I am an outsourced service provider, but this says what I have tried to tell many customers. Kirill, thanks for writing this.

Great writing! Thanks for sharing. Many people who have an idea of start up do not have some technical background and they are affraid that will fail on some step. I am sure your article can clear up some points.
