What would you call yourself?

I am getting ready to launch my new website and one-sheet for Keynote Speaking. The experts in the industry told me that would be better than just adding the fact that I offer keynote speaking on my regular site. With that being said I wonder what I should put for my name? I have a PhD in Leadership and speak on leadership topics (mainly the human side of leadership). Should it be just first name/last name, Axel Meierhoefer, PhD or Dr. Axel Meierhoefer, as my alma mater always encourages us to use?

Hi Axel, I would suggest using "Axel Meierhoefer, Ph.D" if you are making a formal listing. It makes a distinction between that degree and professional doctorates. Just an opinion. Allen Gwinn

Hi Axel, agree with Allen.
To have "Dr." put before your name is also more a European thing.

Which part of Germany are u from?

Dear Wolfgang, Steven and Allen
Thanks for yuor input. PhD it is.

As for Wolfgang, I am originally form Wilhelmshaven in northern Germany but as an Air Force Officer I moved around all over the country before coming to the US. Here I was in Cannon AFB and Holloman AFB, then retired, became executive in software company and stated my own business in 2005

I have done employee and business development for more than a decade now and am pushing with determination to add keynote/public speaking.

Any support or help or suggestion or tip will be much appreciated

If you feel it important to have a label, which does owns little in proof of ability, I also would choose, name, "Ph.D"
Very few if any of my students or peers use the Doctor thing.....
Even most our medical doctors prefer using "name" and then degrees.
Sort of a contrarian mindset many of us have developed over the years. BUT really helps in establishing solid relationships more quickly

As a Markeing specialist I know from branding other professionals that using your name with the Ph.D immediately frames your image to the reader of your doctorate being in academic subjects related to the industries you focus on for keynote speeches. We are in an age of instant perceptions affecting the actions someone will take next. Using Dr. in front of a name subsequently brings up the perception you're a physician and the reader might not read on past that.

Thank you Spalding
I agree with this "jumping to conclusions" mentality
I am proud of my accomplishments but don't want to give people the wrong impression either
