Where is the best place to get a list for medical community? Dentist, pain doctors?

We have several observational studies in pain management as an alternative to traditional opioid treatments and would like to find a great list to send educational material to medical community. Where's the best place to acquire a list?

You can build a list comprised entirely of healthcare professionals currently active in your subject area within the last sixty days via the data mining of "intent data". we provide B2B leads of people actively searching business, healthcare and technology publishers and websites, downloading white papers, attending webinars and posting recruitment ads and job opening in your chosen domains. Leads are 87.5% actionable (correct phone numbers and deliverable emails) and evidence open and click through rates 350% higher than cold lists. See more in my profile under ClearFunnel in my Linked In profile.

Ideally depends on the required parameter for each medical practitioner. If you are looking for basic database, there are "n" number of sources. But if you are looking for specific information, there is no such directory which can provide all. Here you might need assistance from consultant/companies which can customise and provide you an apt list.

Try using a health plan's provider directory. Many may be accessible if they are in markets that have Exchange products

In the US the AMA list is the most reliable and they sell access through resellers. Try searching AMA masterfile reseller

You can build your own list using the free version of Linkedin and its Advanced People Search. Happy to show you how.

Be mindful that with any list purchase you are still responsible for following the rules for solicitation and list use. While you can develop your own list, it's not just the complete list of contacts, but the relevant data associated with those contacts that will make your list meaningful.

If you're competing with opiod use, you probably want to look at prescribing data by drug and per doctor. That information is available in report form from Medicare. You can see an example of online searches of this data at http://projects.propublica.org/checkup/

But just because you know who is prescribing a drug does not mean you'll be able to communicate with them. There's nothing more effective than office visits, however getting in the office is a tedious and sometimes expensive process. Your outside sales force will need practice and a strategy to get into practice meetings, to leave literature or samples, and to make it past the reception desk of any physician's office.

Most physician's are not reading their own mail, someone does it for them, so a direct mail list isn't going to guarantee your message reaches the doctors. You can't send bulk faxes anymore due to anti-SPAM laws, and the same goes with email.

Knowing who is in your target market is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to sales to medical professionals.

AMA, ADA and in particular ask about their past conference registration lists. They may have asked if the registrant consents to receive marketing materials from these organizations and other third parties. If the physician or dentist consented then this authorization to contact would transfer to you as a purchaser of the list. Also the contact info on a conference registration might be more direct to the physician.

Also if you actually have strong data, you might want to be an exhibitor or speaker at a conference.

If you're looking to reach all pain management/opioid prescribers, be sure to include NPs (> 220K in the US) and PAs - maybe via AANP, AAPA, state registries?
