ClickFunnels vs LeadPages, which one is better?

I'm looking into ClickFunnels and Leadpages and can't decide which one is for me.

I am launching 4 new services. Three of them are online courses that I'm thinking to develop through Teachable, and one is a membership to a paid, password protected newsletter on our website.

The dilemma is that for the newsletter, the author wants us to create alogin system with maximum times allowed access per day. This is not doable through Teachable, however a ClickFunnles sales rep told me that they can.

I just don't know if I can trust that sales pitch! Is Click Funnels really an all-in-one solution to all website creation + sales + marketing? And if it is, do I still need Teachable for my other services?

Please help!

Hi Kiana,
I can't speak to the timed access, but I use Teachable and LeadPages, and am considering ClickFunnels. You may be comparing apples and oranges here, because LeadPages and ClickFunnels serve two very different purposes.

LeadPages is meant to create landing pages and boxes to capture leads. Example: you can use one of their templates to create a webinar registration page, or offer a free content upgrade (aka lead magnet). People provide their email address in exchange for your content. Most folks hook up LeadPages to an email system (maybe CRM) to then at a minimum send a thank you email, and at most take them into a funnel outside the LeadPages platform.

ClickFunnels is a marketing automation system, sort of more like Hubspot or Marketo, that allows you to create and manage the entire funnel. So instead of having to integrate multiple tools, like LeadPages, email system, newsletter, CRM, etc., ClickFunnels will allow you to do everything on one platform.

Hope this helps!

Based on what you said I think ClickFunnels will be the better long-term option. If you have a Wordpress site you might want to consider ActiveCampaign integrated with ThriveThemes. Any questions I would be happy to follow up.

Hi Kiana, I had Leadpages for about a year. It's versatile but I don't think it's worth the price when you compare the options. I had Clickfunnels a few months after they opened but let it go. I'm back in it as of yesterday, and it's fastly improved.

Also, there are some great landing page builders. Thrive themes was mentioned and they have a plug in, which I've used successfully but it's now failing on all my sites and we can't find out why.

In the past few days, there's a new landing page builder that's just come out that I'm going to buy. It has many of the attributes of Clickfunnel, except the membership builder. It's a one-time charge of around $67, I think. It's called Igloo from JVZoo. They all have trial periods and it's worth your time to review each one to see if they fit your current needs.

Kiana do you already have Teachable and if so, why did you choose it? What other options did you consider? I have Clickfunnel and wondering what Teachable would add that Clickfunnel does not do. BTW, I also have Leadpages but don't use it.

I used LeadPages for a while, and stopped using them because the price they charge does not make a lot of sense, especially if you are a bit tech savvy (or have someone in your team who is) and can accomplish what they do and more with the proper WordPress theme and plugins.

I have not set up a ClickFunnels account yet, but I have heard that they have an education module available - you could set up the whole sales funnel up to the online training all through CF (please double check this information to make sure I am not giving the wrong info).

I also have a Teachable account. Recently they seemed to be picking up steam and growing, which is great. They have an active Facebook group, which may come in handy if you need a quick reply, as sometimes the official support on a site may take a while to respond.

Good luck and let us know what you decide to go with.

Given your expressed need to secure content for subscription based, password protected content, you should look at Infusionsoft. It mentioned in an earlier thread but both Click Funnels and LeadPages are essentially great landing page platforms. Yes, I work for Infusionsoft but am not in sales. I do know that subscription based content marketing is an area that many of our small business customers really like.

We have been building membership sites and pages in Clickfunnels for sometime now and are currently on their certification training.

I also have a client who uses teachable and am familiar with that interface too. Teachable is good except for the fact that its ecommerce capability doesn't even come close to clickfunnels.

So the short answer is yes Clickfunnels does do all those things and is substantially better from an ecommerce point of view.

What I am not certain about is this aspect of limiting the number of times the login is used per day but I will find out if you like. I am not aware of the systems mentioned here that have this functionality. The question is why do you need that capability? Are you scared that some people might share their logins? If so, I really wouldn't make that a consideration. It'll happen so rarely, that it's not worth the hassle to have that kind of limitation.

Happy to chat with you in more detail of you like, and demo the system for you. We also build free funnels.

Lester I started with Teachable only a few weeks ago and haven't really built anything concrete on it. I really like their simplicity. The only problem was that they don't offer the limited access per day option.

I wasn't however going to replace Teachable... I was looking into marketing and sales tactics and was recommended to look into ClickFunnels and Lead pages.

Doing the demo webinar with ClickFunnels, they told me I can not only create lead pages on ClickFunnels, but also completely get rid of Teachable PLUS have the ability to give limited access on some of our password protected content.

This sounded too good to be true! And that is why I am seeking advice here.

Kiana, can't comment on Teachable. However, ClickFunnels is more than Lead pages and Infusionsoft is a full small business marketing package - includes CRM and campaign set up. Higher up the scale are things like Salesforce and Marketo. Selection would depend more on where you want to go. I too am getting into offering courses but had not considered Teachable but am aware that it is used. There may be more discussion on possible solution arrangements but would likely be beyond the scope of this forum. Just recently I bought into another software solution for online courses which launched a couple of weeks ago. If you are already committed to Teachable, then you may be looking to change further down the line.
