What's your favourite webinar platform?

Hi everyone,

We're redeveloping our site to have a course functionality and we want to have 10 to 15 minute videos with fact sheets as an attachment (automated email). The videos will be static in that people can watch at any time and aren't a live event.

We're happy to have them handle the transaction but we also have a Drupal site with Commerce integrated.

All the best,

Geoff

I've been working with webinars for 9 years. I've used several platforms and the only one that has never let me down is InstantTeleseminar. We were using GoToWebinar for major events at the corporate level and had constant problems with people getting no sound, people getting kicked off, and our own computer locking up. I told the company about InstantTeleseminar and we were off to the races. No more headaches.

It has powerpoint capability, chat rooms, and can be embedded into your own web page if you want to host from your own site, along with a lot of other great features.

Thanks Richard. I've seen GoToWebinar's pricing and it's beyond what I'm willing to pay.

I've checked out Webinar Jam and that looks good but I'm more interested in having a landing page that people purchase the video and resources from and then watch a prerecorded video. Maybe that's not exactly a webinar anymore though.

Thanks Lana, that's helpful but not exactly what I'm after as the videos won't be live.

They don't have to be live. The recordings are evergreen on their platform. And they can be auto-scheduled to play as though live but it's a recording.

Geoff, I used to use WebEx for webinars. Since I was using GoToMeeting I decided to try their webinar product. I conducted over a dozen webinars and never had any issues technical or otherwise. As for cost, I'm not sure the going rates these days. One thing for sure. GoToWebinar was much less than WebEx. It has all the event logistical features for invites, registration, polls and the ability to rebroadcast your webinar afterwards to non attendees. Plus, you can discontinue and renew the service easily. So if you have several months whereby no webinars are held, you don't have to pay.

Hi Geoff,

If you are looking to developing an online course with videos and resource materials here are two recommendations that I have found very easy to use:

Both are easy to use and very affordable. While you can use GoToMeetings to record your videos, you can also use QuickTime (free) or ScreenFlow instead of paying a monthly fee. You just want to make sure the video and audio are good quality. Even smartphones can record excellent video quality. I just use a tripod and wear an aux mic to make sure you capture high quality audio.

Good Luck! Andria

I use webinarjam. I bought lifetime access. I don't do enough to warrant a monthly fee...
