Hi Ashutosh,

In my view to have a break thru if there are summit's or meetups is one way. If events are conducted and sponsorship's is another considering that there is a cost that should be affordable. Direct access to CEOs not sure how it can be achieved.

Dear Vijayasimha

you are right its difficult to reach to that level of hirearchy, In your suggestion what are the other ways to get into the collaboration with companies for B2B association, Someone suggested hire Lead Generation companies is that a result & target oriented approach?

It depends on their Go2Market, do they plan to expand by themselves or via Partners?

For mid-size company, a BDM person is usually the first step to get into the market.

Hi Ashutosh - Yes Lead Generation is an option, but need to understand the hit rate, also ask other SMEs how they are going about. Suggest an association with consulting companies or via trade associations as additional contact points to expand business.

Dear Gonzague,

Yes you are right the first step is BDM, If i take example of my company we have BDMs & they are doing well in business generation, but the concern comes when we plan to expand operations to a particular country, The strategy planning & appointment setting while we plan to visit. Like i am travelling to SG & plan to meet few companies & associate with them or may be establish some business association. Not sure to whom & how to approach? Any advices.

Dear Vijayasimha,

Yes but when we talk about lead generation companies dont give any commitment rather they want commitments from our side on a fees they will charge, what they will get in return is not assured. Moreover trade association, fairs etc become bit difficult when you are not sure what is right or not. The best approach i think is to get in contact with Local companies in these countries but question comes to whom & how to approach?

Ashutosh - Cold calls might be difficult, are there contacts in the country or friends that you can go to. Using their contacts can reach few companies.

As Vijayaasimha mentioned, tradeshow/conference/seminar would be good ways to connect, and request meeting for your target companies.

If your marketing budget allows, sponsoring those events might be a good investment.

I agree with both of you & yes this is a best way to approach but on the other side what do you suggest when we visit SG, Do you see any possibilities or walking in to companies & seeking appointment would work?

Hi Ashutosh,

Cold calls may not be fruitful in my view. Given that in SG there are a lot of companies many small contracting ones.
