Frankly, I cannot think of any worse way to conduct the hiring process than to intervene in this very personal, step-by-step process to recruit good people to my business....by automating.
Every single person wants to be wanted and to be treated with respect.
Respect and automation do not go hand in hand.
But what do I know? I'm just a former corporate (retained) headhunter.

I'm with Erika. I think you want to be engaging with prospective employees and listening for who they are. And, as Erika said they want to be wanted and respected. Speaking to them is a good start.

i agree; its hard enough to attract cultivate and retain qualified people don't make it harder by starting off with impersonal pre-recor4ded interviews. the personal touch is appreciated. if time is a real problem I'd still rather interview with an assistant in person where i can make an impact than with a machine. thanks max
