I want to set up an LED fab in India. What is the minimum investment I would be looking at?

The Indian government has been encouragingentrepreneurs to set upelectronic industries in the country. I have been really inspired to do so and especially so after having worked in the semiconductor industry and having developed a lot of interest. I see a lot of demand for LEDs in India and am trying to gather more information about them. However, I still do not have an idea of how much it would cost to set up a basic LED fab considering that the land is provided for free by the government and all equipment can be purchased free of tax?

Hi Tushar,
LED is a saturated commodity market with many big players already in the field.
Do you have a differentiating product idea or patents that would provide an advantageous position for you in this market?

Dear tushar, There is already quite a competition and the biggies are rolling up their sleeves. I don't want to discourage you but as a person who is dealing in led lights, I just want to make you aware of the ground reality. You may contact me for any assistance. Well try to differentiate your product from the competition. If there are power outages in India like Pakistan, you may introduce rechargeable or solar powered etc. that would be a breakthrough then. Also try to opt for contract manufacturing e.g. you can manufacture your custom made product by Chinese. try alibaba.com

Mr Tushar, this is right that so many players already in the fields but you can also be part of it as demand is very high and the present Govt, is plan invest 10K crore of Rupees in this area in next 2~3 years so its all depend on you how much you can invest and reap the fruits, but all this has to be make in India and can be supply in India or anywhere in the world choice
