Forums for AngelList members?

Are there online forums where AngelList members can discuss without being on the Angel.co site?

email? Quora? Build your own via an open source tool like phpBB?

When I googled: build your own forum, there were lots of hits:
createaforum.com
forumotion.com

Jeff and Rand:

My idea was not to create my own forum because it takes time to have enough subscribers, but to identify existing forums where angelList registered users discuss, get in touch or share info.

Angel.co is not really practical to discuss "live" you can send messages but there is no conversation in real time.

So my question is: is there an online forum, if possible using video, where these exchanges face-to-face can happen?

If it does not exist: is there a need for it and what would you do on these forums?

(For my part it would be to better better integrated in the Investing community, know more people and be more up to date about trends).

I've found investors and entrepreneurs on Quora, I second Jeff's suggestion. I haven't found a one-stop source yet though I've automated the process a bit through Twitter using TweetDeck to set up a search for keywords. Then reaching out to people with direct tweets.

Not what you were looking for but maybe it will give you some ideas. You could also use a tool like BuzzBundle to search for conversations on forums with specific keywords.

There are tools like Hootsuite and Insightly that will allow you to social listen on the major social media platforms as well.

I'll second / third the suggestion that Quora might be a good place to start - perhaps anonymously :-)

Keiretsu forum is a good place to meet other angel investors. You can check their events here.
Many angel investor groups hold events open to public, guest lists are limited and non-members often need to pay to attend. E.g.:
