Where to hire remote telemarketers?

Working on a project (unrelated to my own business) that could probably benefit from a couple people on the phone. It's not a terribly complex B2B product (but probably not a great fit for outsourcing) and we have the target companies... and we just need someone to find warm leads. The company currently runs out of a small shared office so the goal is try to find someone who works remotely (e.g., out of their home) and use Slack, Skype and CRM tools to manage things.

How do you figure out where to hire from? The company is in San Francisco but it doesn't seem that important to find someone local. Post on CL in Cleveland? Des Moines? Bismarck? Is it feasible to get someone long-term to work from their home?

Quick and easy route to go would be https://www.ziprecruiter.com/ Have used it in the past to fill CC roles in seats and remote and can target and hit them all, do expect to get flooded with responses that are just blanket responses though. Just an idea off top of head.

U should be able to find them in locations like Bangalore, New Delhi in India who can do the job with limited guidance on what u expect from them. In these metros MTI shouldn't be a big problem and u should be able to get them relatively cheap.

I think anywhere in the former Rust Belt would be great, and if you hire folks over 50, you can train them on products and technology. What they bring to the party is infinitely more valuable: 1. They still a phone is something you talk on - not just trade long essays and funny pics of cats. 2. They're naturally friendly and helpful, Mary Baum ... from my phone

Mary, that's sort of what I was thinking.

Thanks Kooveli, Krishna. I did think about whether offshoring the role made sense. However I think this role is better suited to a US person. There's a bit of soft selling and cultural relevance is quite important. e.g., Krishna, nobody in the US would ever get confused over whether I should be called Michael or Brill. I'm not saying it couldn't be done in India but I don't really see any obvious advantages of doing it there. The leverage of a great person is probably 10X a good person in this case.
