Who can I ask for mentorship or review?

I am working on my project alone. I got some feedback from future users and I tried my product with third party tools, but I want to get more feedback.
This project is about crowdtesting (QA, software testing, beta testing), that is a very specific topic.
My project is almost ready for mvp release and I will get feedback from users ofc soon, but..

Should I ask my competitors about what they think about it? B/c they should be interested in common market grows?
If not - is there any other good practices about how to get a feedback about your idea?

Hello Alexey,
I manage testing factories at the moment. It would be interesting to understand in more detail what your product does compared to other products out there.
You can message me if you want to discuss in more detail.
Kind Regards
Thomas

Alexey,

I am the original co-founder of automatedqa.com/smartbear.com. Although I am currently in a different industry, testing is still a topic of interest for me and can give you feedback if I know more about your product.
Best of luck

Aleksey, I've been working in QA and managing QA teams for nearly 25 years. I'd be happy to look at your product and provide feedback. Last 10 years or so I've also been managing engineering teams so I can provide feedback from both sides of the house.

Briefly:
It is a very simple platform that will allow everyone to post a public project and attach bug reports to it.
This project is more related to the beta testing, rather then to the normal QA workflow.

It has an additional side-effect idea and small community behind, but it doesn't matter on this step.

P.S. Thanks for your interest. I didn't add more description here b/c I think it will be good to know "is that idea simple enough to understand or not?".

Hi Alexey,

I wouldn't bother asking your competitors! But that's still a creative idea. They are not your customer so you don't really care about them. And you dont' want to be responding to them either. Chart your own path based on customer focus.
User feedback is the best. Accelerators that I have seen ask for interviews/testing with at least 100 people. Think about the goals of the MVP. All product activities are not about the product. They are about learning from your customers. Learn what they want, what they care about. Dont' even bother iterating or tuning features until you get some feedback from them.

However, you asked about mentorship. While you canask anyone to be a mentor, it is worth finding someone(s) who are experts in the areas where you need help. Do you have startup accelerators in your area? Many of them provide an entire network of mentors at your disposal. However, I live in Berkeley so I know not everyone may have that resource. FD (this site) of course is a great place to build those kind of relationships.

Cheers, and happy to help further.

Alexey,

The idea is simple and has a huge potential - but the devil will be in the details and the market is already fairly crowded.

I like your site design very much, however I would not show it publicly until the texts are corrected - spelling mistakes can really ruin the first impression of an otherwise great site. There are also some features that could be added to differentiate the service. If you feel like pursuing the discussion, feel free to shoot me a message.

Alexey,
I agree with all the comments above. Work out what is your advantage over the other solutions and then work the market. You are in Berlin I understand so one of the best locations in Germany and with plenty of potential customers.
If they buy your service you can work it from there.

General business sense is telling me: I would look at competitors, but I would not bother asking competitors unless you know some specific people there who you really believe could be helpful to you.

Being interested in "common market growth" - not a viable assumption for competitors.

I would ask a question on how competitive the market place you are trying to enter is and how your product is different / better.
