Anyone use the MTurk API to get human tasks done?

I have seen that the MTurk API is really outdated. Want to get people's thoughts on the API integration itself as well as the actual quality of the work that is completed. Is this something you would recommend for simple 'Human' tasks like moderation and transcription? Thanks!

Hussein,

I've looked at MTurk for other projects as a means to hierarchically validate data but never got far enough into the technical details to confirm it actually works. For whatever it's worth, this podcast episode of Planet Money talks specifically about MTurk, how it works and how companies like Amazon actually use it for their predictive capabilities. Surprisingly, it's not as algorithmic as one would think and relies heavily on crowdsourced input.
