Best Order Fulfillment Service?

X
In the early stages of development for an e-commerce startup selling crafted goods. I understand how significant order fulfillment for my company and for my future customers' experience. Therefore I wanted to know from others experience, which shipping service works best & has fair prices for an early stage startup like myself.

Hello Sadie, I can recommend you http://www.shipstation.com/features/ They have code integration for every e-commerce platform you can imagine and you can try it for free during a month.
My customer and I had good results integrating it on the store http://flirc.tv
If you have technical doubts about it feel free to contact me.

Sadie, are you looking for Shipping Software? If so, ShipStation is a great place to start.

If you are looking for a fulfillment company to warehouse and fulfill orders for you that is a more complex discussion. I am happy to help. I help eCommerce companies ship international so I am very familiar with the software and logistics involved.

Sadie, I would recommend this. 1 to 500 orders a month you should do it your self in-house. I would use USPS unless it is heavy then I would negotiate rates with FedEx and/or UPS. After 500 order a month you should consider out sourcing. There are a lot of small mom and pop places that can do it but if your looking for a national service then Webgistix, eFulfillment Service and Shipwire are considerations. However, it depends on the product type, SKU depth, SKU volume and other factors which will ultimately be the best option for you. Hope this helps. Good luck!! If you're looking for a 3rd party logistics provider (3PL) who will warehouse and ship direct to your customers, I'd recommend Mochila Fulfillment. I am launching a digital commerce venture, and we've had great experience with them thus far. They were recommended by a friend who's founded and scaled an ecommerce business to $75M in revenue; his company has used many 3PLs and says that Mochila is by far their strongest partner. Mochila handles direct fulfillment for smaller ecommerce businesses in a number of industries so they are a good fit for an emerging startup as well.

Amazon. Is. Amazing.

We worked with Shipwire for over a year and it was a nightmare.

Customers expect things to leave the warehouse quickly... and then get to them fast. Other fulfillment houses have weird "cutoff times," a limited number of warehouses, and less amazing arrangements with shipping companies Nobody can come close to doing those things as well as Fulfillment by Amazon.

Often our customers in large cities get next-day delivery even if they don't pay for it. They get things on Saturdays *and* Sundays.

With Shipwire, an order placed at 9 a.m. on Friday wouldn't leave the warehouse until 9 pm Monday. Then they'd have to wait many days for the shipper to get things to them.
