Sendrid vs. Mailchimp?

We've been long time sendgrid users, but over the last few months we've had several issues with them either losing emails and/or giving terrible customer service. Considering switching to mandril - what have others used and what do you like or hate?

I've switched to Mandrill because (last I checked) better pricing, higher limits in the free plan, and Mailchimp integration. They have somewhat nicer admin site and API too. It's pretty dang hard to beat. I'm not doing huge volume, but I have no complaints.

We have one business set up on SendGrid, but, like Tim, all our newer ones use Mandrill because of the cheaper pricing and better user experience.

I have used SendGrid with no problems, but we don't send a high volume of emails. I'm definitely going to check out the others mentioned here.

email campaigns is over rated. Question, how many emails do you delete without reading it? How many do you personally get per day? What makes your emails different, in which, you would open ? There are better ways, people.

I found I got enough in the free version of Mandrill (volume and inbound processing) to run my business, whereas in Sendgrid I had to upgrade to a paid plan.

@Craig Conlee, I don't know where you get your opinion, because it certainly isn't based on fact. Mail is essential to any comprehensive marketing strategy. We'd die without it.

We use Campaign Monitor and GetResponse. Each have their plusses and minusses and I like them both. MailChimp, not crazy about personally based on an experience many years ago, but they have a solid reputation.

You might take a hard look at GetResponse.

Mail campaigns can give great results if you have build a list based on relationships. We have open rates in excess of 60% on some mails and click throughs near 20%.

Weuse both GetResponse and MailChimp and I am getting ready to drop GetResponse. Their newsletter functionality is often quirky and buggy. I have only been using MailChimp for a few months, but I am about to move my GetResponse lists over.

Hi - we are big Mandril users at AdAgility and have not had any problems. We connect and send via their api's I would not expect any customer service from Mandril. Good Luck. Doug.

@alex eckelberry Google it.
Also, Google how assumptions can shed light on character...

Ole Skool marketing strategies still lives. I delete almost everything and if I want to be informed, I research it. Almost like facts associated with email marketing not effective.

Interesting side conversation about email marketing. But it's worth pointing out that's not the topic of this question. SendGrid and Mandrill do transactional email, as in "Thanks for booking. Here's your receipt."
