Recommendations for a cloud based CRM program for a small app company?

We are a small start-up building a sales force by geographic territory to sell our app to numerous organizations. We would like to find a cloud based CRM program to track leads by territory with a metric to estimate the probability of closing. It should accommodate a dozen sales people for now and be scalable for the longer term and priced accordingly - ideally under $50/mo to get started. Interfacing with Quick Books would be nice, but not essential.

Hi Bill, are your sales reps selling over the phone or are they selling out in the field. If its out in the field, our app the Badger Map could be perfect for managing the territory.

We don't interface with quickbooks though.

We're currently using FreshDesk for customer support, and it has some CRM functionality. Up until now, we've been using a custom Filemaker solution that was cobbled together in-house.

However, HubSpot Free CRM looks like a very good and capable version of their more powerful paid service, and we're going to evaluate it over the next couple of weeks to see if it's a better solution.http://www.hubspot.com/products/crm

Bill,
I have been researching nearly all reasonable CRM's out there to implement for my full time job... that research had put me in touch with what is now my partner in a new venture to fork our own CRM. We have a cloud based CRM, but it doesn't exactly fit your need, it's a bit heavy.

The best fit for you are the folks at NutShell.www.nutshell.com
It's very lightweight, has geographical distribution, a simple to understand and intuitive setup.

Their mobile apps is the best for what you're seeking. Nothing I have tried comes close to how light it is.

When I first tried it it was $15/user/month. Now it's $20, and worth every penny.

Take a trial run at their website you'll be impressed. They have a service model much needed in today's cloud - it's easy to get someone on the phone, chat, or email reply.
They're simply a pleasure.

Even though we have created our own CRM I plan to use Nutshell until we need our own heavier solution, and of course sign up as a reseller for their CRM for our clients that it fits well, like you and me. :)

Best of luck!

I just signed up at nutshell... they gave me a referral code that is worth $60.00 for you in credit if you sign up for a paid account... That's three months free plus the first month trial. :)
Private message me I'll email it to you. Don't want to look like a spammer here.

I agree with Nutshell. Did the trial, signed up for it, and it is already an essential business tool. It's completely customizable so you can "tailor" it to suit your needs...

Businesses are composed of pixels, bytes & atoms. All 3 change constantly. I make that change +ve.
WOW. What a meatball sundae.

Creating an app, then selling it door-to-door!!! How 19th century is that?

Don't forget to get some of those four part carbonless copies to record sales in.

Bill, How are you generating and tracking leads? Is the lead gen and/or tracking process automated? If so, is integration with your lead gen / tracking software important? I can tell you what we use, but I'm not sure yet if lead automation is part of the consideration for you or not. What we use may or may not be all that relevant. If you have time to respond, let me know, and I can probably give you a specific recommendation. Matt McDarby President, United Sales Resources, LLC Sent from my iPhone
