What is the list of quick service retail chains in Northern California ?

I am looking for a list of retail chains in the quick service area that focus on San Francisco bay area as well as California and Washington states. Basically retails that haven't expanded to become nation wide household name, provide quality food and product and fit well into local culture. Let me know if you have other suggestions! If you are in the retail space, I would love to chat.

Some examples:

  • le boulanger
  • philz
  • blue bottle
  • the melt
  • the counter burger
  • sushirito
  • tacolious

These businesses are very boutique but I suspect have the potential for a national audience. Papalote http://www.papalote-sf.com/ http://www.papalotesalsa.com/papalote-salsa-buy-locations.html Papalote sells their packaged salsa in Wholefoods and has the makings of a strong brand. Cafe Gratitude http://cafegratitude.com/ Cafe Gratitude is an extremely professional business with restaurants in LA, SD and the Bay Area. There brand is particularly sophisticated for a small business. The naming of their menu items pretty much captures it. Nopalito http://www.nopalitosf.com/ There should be a Nopalito in every city in the US ;) After eating there for several years the demand has not diminished. You're always looking at a 30min wait in the evening. Hope this is useful. Cheers, Josh

Josh, that is super useful! Yeah, I am looking for smaller chains starting in bay area since they are more tech savvy , faster iterations.
