How was your experience with Startup Weekend London to pitch ideas and hunt for cofounders?

Has anyone here tried to connect with co-founders through Startup Weekend London? I would like to invite some opinions on your Startup Weekend London experience to pitch ideas and form teams. Any success or failure stories are welcome to get a sense of what to expect at the event if you are looking for potential co-founders.

Startup weekends are all the same really, they are good to work on something and get the creative juices flowing. They are not good places to meet a cofounder. I think if you have someone and you two want to accelerate things and see how working together in a startup like situation might be it's a great place. Most people go to startup weekend to have fun and 95% want to go back to their day job. I find most people leave thinking they might have a team but they don't and then all momentum is lost quickly. It's better to go with a few people you think you might want to work with.

Think of it this way Amit:

What are you missing that you need to fill out to launch/move your effort to the next stage?

Why do you believe you might find it in a Startup Weekend rather than doing the hard legwork involved in startups?

Great insights. I am hard pressed to take ideation to MVP stage without any budget and lack of good designers and tech minds. So networking helps. But in the end what you get is a random distribution of talent which might or might not be what you are looking for. In an ideal setting I would love to go to startup weekend hosted by Founderdating. The kick off event had a pitching ice breaker which does get you kicking.

But you are right just go there for fun and drinks rest is all chance.
