Wow! Going to be a tough hurdle to draw foreign risk capital when your countries reputation as an export is fraud and heartache. Totally unfair to hold you accountable for 20 years of bad actors, but I fear you should be focused on boot strapping. Also suggest if your target market is outside of Nigeria that you host and "base" yourself somewhere else. You may find someone willing to take the risk if your investment comes in the form of services. E.G. I have a few extra servers laying around and could fire them up to run your site with no risk and little effort. You would also need to be far clearer about what you are looking for "investment'. Although I think that violates FD's T's & C's. Feel free to ping me offline.

It's a good thing this is coming up now... There are VCs and angel investors that have supported and are still supporting tech startups in Nigeria..Jumia Nigeria recieved funds from Morgan Chase for business expansion last year..The challenge is that because Nigeria in most respects is still developing information is not readily available.. You can try one of the Federal Government's loans and grants for SMEs too

Taiwo - I think you'll have more luck with domestic sources. For example, Dangote Foundation has started up a entrepreneurial financing vehicle and entrepreneur recognition program - out of their Abuja offices. Legatum foundation is another.

Taiwo. A friend of mine recommended Omo Igiehon at Portals LLC.

I believe that Portals LLC is a consulting firm that coordinates teams responsible for foreign investment in emerging markets, including Sub-Saharan Africa. I don't know much about them, but it's probably worth finding out more.
