Are there any specialized edtech angel groups?

We are looking to start conversations with edtech angel investors for our seed round. We are building a platform where teachers can create their educational materials and have over 600 pre-registrations.

We are looking to start conversations with edtech angels are they any known groups that focus on this?

Yes, Learn Launch as a group and an accelerator invests in some great companies here in Boston. There are a lot of others that look for investments outside of their accelerators.

Emmanuel, I worked at Blackboard Inc. for 5 years and for the American Council Education before that. I know many of the Blackboard angels and companies they have spun off. Have you looked at Angel.co ? Not specific to EdTech but active platform for Angels and Founders in general.
You can also try accelerator like Imagine K-12 (www.imaginek12.com)

One "hack" to this is to join one of these incubator/accelerators without being "selected" through some competition. In other words, the ATT Aspire accelerator mentioned above is housed in GSVlabs. You can rent a desk at GSVlabs for a monthly fee and get tapped into the mentors and network.

You can also do this at the EDGE Accelerator in NYC.

I would highly recommend this approach because being vetted and referred by the community is a key to raising money (besides traction of course).
