Recommendations for WordPress Themes for SaaS Web Applications

I'm currently building a very simple web application to automatically generate reports from data pulled from a third party API. Can anyone recommend any WordPress Themes that have been built for SaaS Web Applications? I found a few here and was wondering if there are any others out there that people have successfully implemented -

Thanks!

These guys have a bunch of WP templates tailor made for SaaS (including the typical freemium pricing pages).

Elegant Themes is great if you need multiple themes (e.g., you're designing a bunch of sites).

If you just need one theme, the most advanced/best designed WP themes are here: http://www.themeforest.net

I highly recommend WooThemes, as they have amazing support and integrate with WooCommerce, a free, extensible, open-source ecommerce plugin for WP that would allow you to charge subscription billing.

Matt,

Thanks! Would I use WooCommerce to manage subs in combination with Stripe for payment processing or would WooCommerce replace Stripe for payment processing as well?

Wootheme released a Strip plugin, which integrates the Stripe payment gateway:http://www.woothemes.com/products/stripe/.

Also, if you are using ThemeForest for a theme, be absolutely sure you purchase themes from only highly rated developers/teams, because many times the developers who build and sell on ThemeForest either abandon the project if they don't get enough sales or their code sucks and your site will be security compromised, will be slow or have other problems and the developers are selling these as one offs, so they're not a company that is going to give you support. ThemeForest is literally the Android marketplace for WordPress themes and other themes and plugins for other CMS software. ThemeForest does not warranty the software and you have no recourse.

In terms of SaaS, I can't imagine how a theme would replicate the functionality of your SaaS offering, unless it has built in custom post type generator for you to manage your post types and set up a data structure.

WordPress is inherently a blog publishing platform that has since graduated to a full CMS, but out of the box, you need to customize it to take payments with the woocommerce plugin and then adopt stripe and everything. Not sure what your intent is, but generally speaking, an out of the box SaaS template wouldn't necessarily speak to your business model, whatever that is.

Actually, some of those links are by "Elite Author," which is a good sign. You generally want to buy from an elite author that is rated.

Anthony, Thanks for the feedback. I've put this project on-hold for now, however will certainly come back to your advice when I pick it up again. After some initial research, I agree that using WordPress for a SaaS offering wouldn't be as easy as I was hoping...Chris
