Are there good websites or resource for market sizing information?

I'm looking to find some simple, yet hard to quantify statistical information to use in my investor deck. Can anyone recommend any good statistics websites or resources ?
I'm looking to find answers to questions like
-how many artists are there in a given city?
-how many art magazines existed in any given year?

What you're asking about seems like it's for market sizing. No idea what you're trying to say in the deck, but typically you do need to get that specific. You'd need to show a total market size and explain your assumptions to get there (Which you will have to make) but not city by city or year by year.

All of this stuff is available via different sources and is industry specific. I'm certain if you start googling you'll find 2-3 sources for what you're looking for. I did one google search and saw thishttp://www.stateofthemedia.org/2012/magazines-are-hopes-for-tablets-overdone/magazines-by-the-numbers/. This is about a) a little googling and b) market sizing is more art than science

You can surf the web sites of the state government and the Federal gov't. Most states keep statistical data via census as the does the Feds. This is public information and based on those citizens who were counted in the last census (2010) per the citizens agreement to fill out the census form.

Counts of people is housed primarily at the US census. I was able to find Table CB1200 , with various geographic cuts (Cities/states/zip codes), which shows numbers of "Independant Artists, Writers, and Performers" (NAICS 711510) http://factfinder.census.gov/faces/tableservices/jsf/pages/productview.xhtml?pid=BP_2012_00CZ2&prodType=table You might also try looking at City or county websites; different people may have already looked for this information in a different way.

If there are any professional associations that cover art and artists, they may have free market data on their website. They may have also created market analyses - these are usually very expensive, but if you call them and weave a good story, they may provide a older report for free or discounted cost.
