Pivot or Persevere

Ah the age old question...When did you decide to pivot or persevere?

To me this is one of the defining characteristics of great entrepreneurs,
i.e. knowing when to make this decision.  I don't think there's an easy
answer to it, it's much more art than science.  That said, I think the
cliche of trust your gut actually applies here.  What I will say, from
personal experience, is that once you make the decision to pivot, in order
to give it a chance to succeed, you must pivot completely, without any
hedging by continuing to pursue the old product/strategy and the new one.
This is hard to do, but necessary IMHO for successful pivoting.

Maybe you'll find this post helpful. I wrote it a while back. That startup
is now history though.

Thanks for the helpful post Ilya.  Another post from a friend of mine
relating to persevering as a lost art these days:
