Looking for phone number generation and tracking software

We are seeking a technology that will enable us to mask phone numbers with our own generated 1-800 numbers, and track/monitor/record calls for charging on a performance basis. Does anyone know of any SaaS solutions we can leverage for this?

There's lots of services out there and Twilio is a good one. They're not the cheapest out there, but they're reliable and there's lots of good examples of how to access there services through APIs (and good client code too).

Of course you could always use something like Asterisk or Freeswitch and build something in-house, it's not that complicated.

I adjust, create or rescue brand identities. Then I market them. ► www.about.me/jonahstory.
I use www.callfire.com but am now looking at the others posted here. Good post.
