Good Questions to Ask When Beta Testing Mobile App?

I have a mobile app for private messaging that will be ready for beta testing by 20-30 users in October. Does anyone has some good resources for questions to ask, both about the current functionality/usability and future wants?

I would really recommend reading Don't Make Me Think by Steve Krug, particularly chapter 8: http://www.amazon.com/Dont-Make-Me-Think-Usability/dp/[removed to protect privacy]

The book is a bit dated but the principals are still relevant! Good luck.

I’m probably looking at your profile because you are similar to other myBoosters.com clients
It's best to

1) give users tasks to complete, such as 1: register 2: share it 3: etc

2) ask open ended questions like "how do you register?" and "how do you share it" etc... for the tasks you gave them.

3) score the responses: 100% means they did the task with no problem, 50% means they completed the task with some difficulty, and 0% means they didn't complete the task.

Low score = improve that area

Hope this helps!

We're dong the same with our new app, www.myboosters.com and it's working great.
